After graduating in Dentistry from Charles University in Prague and then in Medicine from St Georges University of London, he completed a Master of Science degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University College London (UCL), which he obtained with honours. He then continued his higher surgical training in Maxillofacial and in Plastic and reconstructive surgery in some of the busiest university hospitals in the country, getting a vast experience in head and neck, breast and skin cancer reconstruction, hand and lower limb reconstruction, burns and paediatric plastic surgery. Mr Vourvachis completed a microvascular fellowship training at the world-renowned Royal Marsden Hospital in London, one of the leading hospitals in the world in the diagnosis and reconstruction of breast, perineal, chest wall, soft tissue sarcomas and skin cancer.
